Giuliana Turi

Current research

Welcome to my personal website! I am a Ph.D. student in the Environmental Physics group (UP) at the Institute of Biogeochemistry and Pollutant Dynamics (IBP), ETH Zurich. The main focus of my research is on regional modeling of coastal marine biogeochemistry in Eastern Boundary Upwelling Systems. In particular, I investigate the carbon cycling in the California Upwelling System, with an emphasis on the air-sea gas exchange of CO₂ and the lateral and vertical export of inorganic carbon. Further, I'm interested in the link between these coastal regions and the open ocean, as well as the role these regions will play under changing climate and rising atmospheric carbon dioxide.
