The Ocean Biogeochemistry and Ecosystems group aims to better understand the functioning and variations of marine biogeochemical cycles and how these cycles are controlled by ecosystem processes. For this purpose, we synthesize observations and model output on regional and global scales. At present, we are trying to better understand how phytoplankton production and taxonomic composition changes with environmental forcing, and how dissolved oxygen fluctuates on interannual to decadal timescales in the interior ocean.
